Southwest WI RBA
Show
Sunday May 14, 2006
Dodgeville, WI
We love
to attend this show because of the spacious building and short drive from
our place, less than an hour! It is also one of the coldest
buildings though.....and it was already a cold, rainy day to begin with.
We were chilled to the bone by the time we left and just could not get
warm, but it turns out, we all were coming down with a cold, which made
itself apparent on Monday.
The other
reason we like to come here is for the pie...they serve such a wide
variety of mouthwatering homemade pies; everything from apple, key lime,
blueberry cheesecake, cherry, raisin, and lots more. Jody ate three
pieces alone!
Kelly did
just wonderfully with her French Lops under Tex Thomas - he absolutely
loved JB One Choice, Kelly's large opal doe she purchased from Jean Thomas
at last year's convention. This doe finally got her nice coat in and
showed well - won Best of Breed, but Kelly did not want to stay for Best
in Show judging!
Jody did
so-so with his Hollands. He becomes a bit disappointed when some of
his really nice bucks don't place well. Shorty, I think was almost
first off the table and this buck is just awesome! This is when you
need to keep your spirits up and have faith in your rabbits when you
know they are good representatives of the breed-and Jody did a nice
job of maintaining his good nature- maybe it was the pie!
