Welcome To Our Rabbit Showing Segment!
|
Rabbit showing is a fun hobby for the whole family! Many rabbit owners who start out as youth exhibitors in 4-H, turn into lifelong rabbit breeders and exhibitors. Even those who come into this hobby as adults find it to be quickly captivating, one in which longtime friendships develop!
For the beginning rabbit exhibitor, the first rabbit show can be confusing. After all...how do you show a rabbit? What do you do first?
I remember all the questions we had when my kids first started showing rabbits; where do I find rabbit shows?, how do you get ready for a rabbit show?, how do I enter the rabbit show?, and what class is my rabbit in?
Some of our questions were answered by helpful rabbit breeders at each show, and some were just learned by the repetitive process of each show.
To
help new rabbit show exhibitors, I've made a series of articles - all about
showing rabbits at ARBA shows - links to each are located in the sidebar to
your left.
I have articles on how to use the Standard of Perfection along with tips on posing Holland lops and polish, plus pictures showing common rabbit conformation faults to help you choose your own show rabbits!
Let me know if you have suggestions for new topics or how to improve our showing segment.
My current rabbit show schedule is online too - look me up at my next show if you need any help! Because of my high school son's heavy sports schedule, I won't be at as many shows as I'd like during 2009 again. One more year left in high school for my youngest, and then afterwards I plan to be back showing full swing!
In a hurry? Print our Rabbit Show Basics - a short, easy-to-read reference that covers all the important things at your first rabbit show. Feel free to print and use our Rabbit Show Entry Form - a basic rabbit show entry form that should be good at almost any regular rabbit show. And if you like using checklists to pack for each rabbit show, print out our handy Rabbit Show Checklist.
The printable forms require Adobe Reader to view them. click here to download this free small program - handy for reading any pdf documents!
Note: I just published this site in January 2009, as a replacement to my other website, and I still have a lot of information and articles to finish - stop back often for more rabbit showing help!
