Rabbit Show Entry Forms:  How To Enter A Rabbit Show

Rabbit Show BuildingDay-of-entry rabbit shows require each exhibitor to enter the show using a Rabbit Show Entry Form.  The show entry form, along with remark cards (if remark cards are used) and entry fees, enters all the rabbits one exhibitor is going to show.

Some pre-entry shows allow online, emailed or call-in entry instead - check your show catalog for instructions if a paper show entry form is not required.

After the show, the show secretary uses all exhibitors' show entry forms and remark cards (or control sheets if the club doesn't use remark cards) to compile results and reports from the rabbit show.  The show secretary sends all the breed show reports and overall show reports to all the sanctioning breed and rabbit clubs and if you are listed as a paid member, your points are put towards any sweepstakes that club is tracking.

The show secretary also makes your own individual exhibitor show report which will list all the rabbits you showed, where they placed in their classes, any specials earned (such as best of breed, best of variety, etc) and points each rabbit earned along with your total points awarded for this show

How Many Rabbits Can I Enter?

At ARBA Rabbit shows you may enter as many rabbits as you want!  You can also enter several different rabbits in the same class if you want.  You can list all your rabbits on one rabbit show entry form - you do not need separate entry forms for each breed or class.

If all your rabbit entries do not fit onto one Show Entry form, use as many additional sheets as you need, and staple them together.

Although you can enter as many rabbits as you want - keep in mind that each rabbit can only be shown in one class during that show.  You cannot enter a rabbit into multiple classes at the same show.

Showing Your Rabbit More Than Once ....or so it seems......

Fur Class:  If you enter your rabbit in a breed fur class, it will be judged on its fur right after all the regular classes for your breed are shown.  You are not actually showing your rabbit twice because your rabbit is not judged on its breed attributes, but rather on its fur. You will need a separate Remark Card (if the show uses remark cards) for each rabbit you enter in a Fur Class in addition to paying a separate FUR entry fee.

Double Shows: If you attend a 'double show' this means there are two complete and separate shows -held at this rabbit show -in this instance, you might be showing your rabbit twice in one day, but each time is considered a separate show - so you will need a separate entry form and another set of remark cards (if used) for the second show.  Some clubs even put on triple shows - so you could show your rabbit three times in one day!

A Specialty Show is a mini show held during an all-breed rabbit show.  Usually sponsored by another club, for just one breed or a small group of related breeds ( such as lops or angoras...)  Normally there will be a separate show table away from the main show tables, and the specialty club will have its own judge, show secretary and awards.  If you show your rabbit in the regular all-breed show and then in the Specialty Show, you are showing twice, but again, each show is considered separate and you will need separate entry forms and remark cards (if used) for the specialty show.

Each Rabbit Must Be Entered Under Its Owner's Exhibitor Name

Yes...every rabbit shown must be entered under its owner's exhibitor name(s).

Any rabbit that is even partially owned by an adult or Open-aged exhibitor cannot be shown in Youth at all

If you are a parent - you cannot show your kids' rabbits under your name in Open, and your kids cannot show your rabbits under their names in Youth!

You can show FOR your friend or your sibling as long as the rabbits are entered under their name and not yours!  This commonly happens when someone can't attend a show, so a friend or relative shows their rabbits for them.

Check the rules in your show catalog - most shows require that Youth show Youth rabbits, and some even require that Youth carry Youth rabbits to and from the show tables, not adults or parents!

Where to Find Show Entry Forms

Look in your show catalog:  Usually the sponsoring rabbit club will include a show entry form in the show catalog.  You may copy it for additional exhibitors.

Our Show Entry Form: We have a generic rabbit show entry form that anyone can print and use.  Click on the link below for this pdf form to open.

Rabbit Show Entry Form

The American Rabbit Breeders offers packs of 100 show entry forms for only $10, how much cheaper can you get?  Click this link to go to the ARBA Show Supply page.

Computer-based entry forms:  If you use rabbit-tracking software, many of these will also print either blank or fully-completed entry forms for you!

Tips on Filling Out The Entry Form

  • Print clearly - don't rush or write in cursive.

  • Exhibitor info - fill in all info completely, including your full address and phone.

  • Mark Open or Youth at the top corner of the entry form.

  • Don't abbreviate your breed names or colors unless the meaning is obvious.

  • Tattoos must be readable on the form- be careful of numbers/letters that can be mistaken for others such as zero and the letter 'o', number 1 for the letters 'l or t', etc.

  • Don't forget to mark FUR if you are entering a rabbit in a fur class.

  • If using remark cards, make sure the rabbits on the entry form match all the rabbits on your remark cards.

  • Youth entry forms - if your young child filled out his or her own entry form, check it for clarity and accuracy before you turn it in!

Enter The Show - Day of Show Entry

Now if you've come to the rabbit show with your show entries filled out and your remark cards ready, just go up to the entry desk and turn in your entries and pay your entry fees.  Be sure to stand in the correct line - usually there are separate lines for Open and Youth.

Good luck at the show!
