General Rabbit Conformation Faults
Identifying rabbit conformation faults can be a daunting task for anyone, especially the beginning rabbit breeder.
Don't worry if you don't understand or can't seem to recognize faults in your rabbits - it does take some time and experience to readily pick out faults in rabbits. Plus, many faults are hard to understand as written on paper - it is only when you can run your hands over a faulted rabbit and also over a rabbit without that same fault, that you can really 'feel' the fault and learn to recognize it in the future
Before you look for faults, make sure your rabbit is posed properly. A poor pose can make a rabbit appear to have faults he or she doesn't really have! Read our page on how to pose Holland Lops here, and how to pose Polish rabbits here.
We have a few pages on specific or major faults: shoulder faults, crown faults, depth faults and bone faults. On this page we'll just briefly touch on other faults not found on our other pages.

We've only touched on a few of the more common faults in our showing rabbits segment - there are many, many more. You can find all faults listed in The Standard of Perfection - general faults pertaining to all breeds, can be found in the front of the book, and breed-specific faults can be found under each breed segment in the book. Read more about the Standard of Perfection here!
