Age of Sale Pet:
All our pet rabbits are fully weaned and well adjusted to life
without mom before they are offered for sale - please do NOT ask to purchase a
pet younger than 10 weeks old-I make absolutely NO exceptions!
Price and Payment:
Our pet-quality rabbits are $35 each with a $10 discount
for 4-H/FFA youth members. A discount applies if multiple rabbits are
purchased.
Full cash payment is expected at the
time of sale. No
personal checks are accepted.
Special circumstances warrant special prices - we may have an occasional spayed/neutered rabbit for sale
and of course the price will be higher. We may also decide to part with an
older or retired animal, and these older animals may be offered at a reduced
price.
None of our pets are offered for free -
it is not the money that is important to us (believe me, there is no profit in
raising rabbits), but your willingness to pay a reasonable price for
a pet helps indicate to us that you are a seriously-committed pet owner.
Pets obtained free are oftentimes not valued as highly as a pet purchased with
hard-earned or saved-up money.
HOW TO GET YOUR PET:
Our rabbitry is closed to the
public but we can meet with you at other locations-
Rabbit Shows -You can meet with us at any of the
Wisconsin-area rabbit shows we attend. You can find a list of rabbit shows we
plan to attend by visiting our
Rabbit Show website segment. Be sure to email us ahead of time
so we bring some pet rabbits to the show you plan to come to!
In Madison - On occasion I
may be able to meet with you in the east Madison or Cottage Grove areas.
Both are in south central Wisconsin. Current gas
prices no longer allow me to drive more than 20 minutes away, to deliver pets -
often the cost of gas costs more that the pet!
No Shipping - I am sorry but
we have never shipped pet rabbits and don't plan to.
When you pick up your pet rabbit:
Bring a suitable carrier for your new
pet! I don't always have boxes or other
containers that will securely hold your new pet on his trip home! If you
are buying a French Lop - please bring a carrier large enough!
Email us if
you need help deciding how to transport your new pet!
What you get with your pet:
1) bag of starter food 2) bag of grass hay
3) rabbit care
instructions 4) birth certificate (pedigrees are not
available for pets)
Return Policy for Pet Sales:
Buyer may return the rabbit to us, within 2 weeks of sale, for
refund of the purchase price, as long as no harm has been done to the pet.
Transportation will be the sole responsibility of the pet owner! Any pet that develops a genetic deformity,
at any time, that inhibits your enjoyment of him/her, may be returned to us for a
replacement animal of our choosing. (Genetic deformities have not been an issue
with the lines we currently have!)
Illness:
We do not sell ill pets or pets that have ever exhibited
any illness- all pets sold are healthy when they leave here and we offer
no returns for illness outside of our 2 week return policy.
Help and Advice:
Is free for as long as you own the pet! Feel free to
contact us with any questions or if you need help. If we don't have
the answer, we will try to find it for you!
Our experience with house rabbits is limited and we can only offer advice
that relates to care similar to how we raise rabbits. Our printable
booklet
Basic Rabbit Care & Breeding is
available for you to download at any time and offers reference on many
rabbit care issues.
If you are purchasing a show
or breeding stock rabbit as a pet, this Pet Sales Policy will not
apply to your situation - visit our
