The Foundation Holland Lops of LaReau Lops!

YRA Daisy BOB youth 1997 ARBA Convention - WIJody, my son, began his Holland herd with rabbits from Eric Henning of Yellow River Acres in Wisconsin.  Eric and his sister bred and showed Holland Lops during the 1990's and were quite successful-winning Best of Breed in youth at the 1997 ARBA Convention.  Their Hollands were a combination of Badgerland and Jamie Wardlow Hollands.

Jamie Wardlow was a very popular Holland Lop breeder who won many awards, including Best In Show (open) at the 1997 ARBA Convention!  Her rabbits have influenced many lines of quality Hollands, including YRA's, and of course, ours.

I hope you'll enjoy reading about some of our foundation Holland Lops!  Below are just a few of the foundation Holland Lops who have really influenced our herd - of course we have others, but these few rabbits have consistently passed on the most extraordinary Holland Lop traits to our herd:

YRA Dexter, Holland Lop buck YRA DEXTER
CJ's DJ x YRA Dandy
Broken black buck

All Wardlow-bred going back to CJ's Cosmo, CJ's Cody and CJ's Triples.
Dexter retired with many legs to his credit.  Although not too evident in this picture, Dexter was blessed with one of the most perfect heads and toplines we've seen!

YRA Muggins, Holland Lop Buck YRA MUGGINS
YRA Amory x YRA Tennessee Lamb
Broken tortoise buck

All Wardlow-bred going back to CJ's Cody, CJ's Collin, and CJ's Triples.
This is a junior picture of Muggins - He is the half-brother to YRA Petal, Jody's first successful show rabbit.  Muggins grew into exactly the type of Holland we want our own Hollands to be like.

Reilly's GMT1, Holland Lop buck REILLY'S GMT1
Frit's Mr. Otter x Wenonah's Ginger
Black buck

"Musso" Pedigree going back to Halldorsson's, Campos, Firkus and Breezy Pines.  Our first Holland Lop, he carries a dilute gene and also has a very compact, muscular body ("Musso" evolved from 'muscle').  He is our favorite Holland and enjoys quite a king's existence here.......

Naragon's TJK79, Holland Lop doe NARAGON'S TJK79
Naragon's King Tut x Naragon's Hathor
Tortoise doe

"Sweety doe" ...well what can I say about my favorite doe?.......you can see the awesome bone and mass she has - this she has passed on to our own Hollands.   Her daughter won BOV at WI State Conv in 2007.

YRA Shorty, Holland Lop buck YRA SHORTY
Critter Co-Op Bomber x YRA HO95
Broken tortoise buck

Background of Felds, Critter Co-Op and Wardlow Hollands. Retired and our main herd buck.  Placed 2/75 youth Convention 2005.  Massive head, short & compact!

YRA Doubles, Holland Lop buck YRA DOUBLES
CJ's Triples x YRA Sable
Tortoise buck

All Wardlow-bred going back to CJ's Corey and CJ's Cosmo. Doubles placed 15/126 youth at the 2005 Convention.  he brings unbridled vitality and stockiness to our herd.  Enjoying retirement right now!
