Our Foundation Holland Lop Does

The Holland Lops behind our LaReau Lops line!

We have two lines of Hollands Lops; Our YRA/Wardlow line, and our colored line from Bonne Bunnys.

We purchased the majority of our Holland Lops from Eric Henning of Yellow River Acres Rabbitry in Wisconsin.  We started out with a few show rabbits, then slowly over the next few years, purchased several breeding Holland Lops from Eric.  When Eric decided to sell out of Holland Lops in fall of 2004, we ended up purchasing all his quality bucks and more breeding does.

We are pleased to own such a fine line of Holland Lops for our foundation stock - we intend to linebreed these rabbits and keep as much of this 'old' line as intact as we can.

~Read more about Yellow River Acres Rabbitry and Jamie Wardlow's line here ~

Our colored line of Hollands is very small, actually just a few rabbits from Geoff Bonne, and a dilute-carrier buck from Reilly's line- they are not our main focus, but the different colors are sure exciting to see!

Below are our foundation Holland Lops in no particular order.  We don't show our Holland Lop foundation does - they enjoy a pampered life at our rabbitry and each enjoys her job of raising future generations of YRA/Wardlow Hollands!

Some of our foundation rabbits are no longer with our rabbitry but are still mentioned here because each contributed something important to our rabbitry or line!

YRA Petal  H072

YRA Blackjack x YRA Dudette

broken black doe

Petal was the first show doe we purchased from Eric - and our first grand champion.  She was an elegant girl with a statuesque pose which judges loved!  We lost her the day after the 2005 show in MN, where she won BOS.  Read Petal's tribute here.  She is the reason we bought YRA Jack and YRA Muggins - they are half sibs to Petal.

YRA Candy

YRA Allen x YRA H059

broken tortoise doe

Candy is such a beautiful Holland - we should have been showing her but instead we put her into our breeding program.  CJ's Triples, CJ's Cosmo and CJ's DJ, plus YRA Dude, YRA Dixie Chicken and more in her background!

YRA Cocoa

Critter Coop Bomber x YRA Dixie Chicken

solid tortoise doe

Cocoa is the only YRA Holland we have with such a varied background to include FRR, CC, and Naragon's lines in addition to YRA and classic Wardlow lines.  This is a jr. picture of her - she has matured into a lovely Holland doe!

YRA H087

YRA Dexter x YRA Tennesee Lamb

broken black, charlie doe

Lambchop, one of our brood does, has a very nice topline and full hindquarters although it is hard to tell from this picture.  She has produced some very nice Hollands so far!  Again, all Wardlow and YRA lines.

YRA H078

YRA Dude x YRA Jamie Bond

Broken tortoise doe

This doe was one of the first brood does from Eric Henning - she produced a few nice litters for us before she went back to live at YRA.  This is the only pic I can find of her - a very bad one at that, she was a tiny Jr. in this shot.

Naragon's TJ24

Solid Tort doe

Purchased in spring of 2006 from Todd Naragon, we are so excited to add this doe to our rabbitry - We absolutely love her heavy bone, full body and full cheeks!
